No Amount of Professional Development Can Make Up for Lack of Teachers, Reading Specialists, Librarians, and a Full-Time Counselor

Dear Bill and Melinda,

I’m sure my colleagues and I will be asked to do some “weaving” this fall, and there will be much talk about testing and scores.

What there won’t be is any acknowledgment that we used to have 1.5 more FTE in classrooms, a reading specialist, a librarian, and a full-time counselor in our building.

No amount of professional development makes up for their absence.

That “weaving” link doesn’t appear to be working.

Thank you, Tim. It appears to be working now after fixing. Please let us know if you can’t access it.
